VendaCard
Pronunciation: vend a card/ vend e card
Definition: a plastic rectangular disk about half the size of a regular credit card that one uses to pay for photocopies. (Usually use of the VendaCard costs less than using loose change)
Attested: I was about to make copies at the copy-machine, and the sign said, "Copies 15 cents with change; 10 cents with the VendaCard".
Etymology: Wanting to save money at the photocopy machine, I used my VendaCard for copies.
Etymology: This word is probably derived from use of a vending machine. In a vending machine, one puts money into a machine. Then something comes out of it, usually in the form of either food or drink such as candy and soda. In this case, instead of getting a 3 Musketeers bar, one will get a plastic card. The second half of the word can be derived >from the phrase, debit card. Once you have bought is from the vending machine, it is used as a regular debit card but only for photocopies. The word is a conglomeration of different aspects of both its procurement and utilization.
